Energy data
that tells you what it doesn't know.
Tolven builds and operates data infrastructure for European energy markets. We keep every revision, declare every gap, and tie every series to its licence. Data you can't audit is data you can't trade on.
One product
at a time.
Tolven is an umbrella for narrow data products, added slowly. The first is Energy Data: a public API over Dutch imbalance settlement, built for the people who backtest against it — batteries, flexibility operators, aggregators and quant desks.
Dutch imbalance prices, point-in-time
Windowed and latest reads, monthly bulk Parquet, a gaps endpoint, and
?as_of= reads that hide anything published later. Public,
unauthenticated, free.
A single operator,
on the record.
Roald Hacquebord, one engineer in the Netherlands, runs Tolven. The surface stays narrow enough for one person to operate, and you always know who to email. The address in the footer reaches that engineer — not a ticket queue, and not a form.
A single operator raises an obvious continuity question. The hedge is structural rather than a promise: bulk history ships as Parquet, an open format on your own disk. If Tolven ever stops, you lose the refresh, not the history.
